17 Things I Like About Barcelona: La Plaza Catalunya

English:
Plaza Catalunya becomes the first place a Barcelona's kid discovers when is brave enough to use the metro on his own. The whole life is condensated there and in the surrounding areas: las Ramblas, portal de l'angel, passeig de gràciaa and pelayo streets.

Years later this kid gets sick of all the crowds visiting like a mule that follows the other mules without thinking where she is going. And mature comes when he realises that Barcelona's city center is just nothing different from any other country's city center: McDonalds, shops, crowds, some monuments, poor people, etc. Is in this moment when the every Friday plan "lets go to Catalunya" is replaced for the "lets love our neighbourhood and its authenticy".

Then, though the kid is still a young, the first signs of elderly appear, and he learns to love another thing about the Plaza Catalunya: he learns to freeze time, and just admire what is really important in there: people. Sitting in a bench and watching people from every culture is one of the best entertainments you can find in Barcelona. Not only everyday you will find a bunch of never seen before situations, but every you of your live will find a different Plaza Catalunya to see.
